The Melrose is an all-suite luxury, boutique courtyard mansion with large French windows, roomy balcony with finger lace ironwork and pillared verandas. A grand staircase takes guests to their rooms, each decorated with one-of-a-kind antique furnishings, artwork and fine architectural details. The popular Donecio Suite has been called “the most romantic bedroom in New Orleans” and is a favorite with honeymooners.

Just steps away from Bourbon Street, the Melrose Mansion sits on the edge of the French Quarter on historic Esplanade Avenue and features the largest swimming pool in the French Quarter. All newly renovated suites include ebony stained hardwood floors, wireless internet, 350-count sheets,  original artwork, marble baths or Jacuzzis, hand-made furnishings, cathedral ceilings, large chandeliers, mini fridges, flat screen 40-50” LCD TV’s, and IPOD charging docks.

In the mornings, the smell of freshly brewed Community coffee sifts throughout the mansion. Light continental breakfast is served each morning which can be enjoyed in the Parlor or poolside. To warm our guests in the winter months when it gets cold in the Big Easy, the Melrose Mansion serves complimentary hot chocolate every Sunday-Wednesday from 6pm-7pm which can be enjoyed in the parlor or in the comfort of your room. To start the weekend off, every Thursday-Saturday, we also provide a wine & cheese service from 6pm-7pm.

When not exploring the historic streets of the French Quarter, walk back to the Melrose and splash into our refreshing pool or relax on a lounge chair and gaze at the tropical lushness that surrounds you.

The Melrose Mansion has a mandatory Amenity Package of $7.95 per night which includes a light continental breakfast, unlimited local and long distance phone calls, wireless internet, usage of the in-room safe with up to $20,000 safe insurance, and 24hr usage of the fitness center.
